I'm a tutor who is based out of New York City, where I enjoy spending time with my kids, working as an amateur photographer, and socializing with friends when I'm not working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in political science and government from Columbia University. As a tutor, I'm able to help students with English as a second language, reading, writing, and standardized test preparation. I have a wealth of experience working as an educator here in New York. I've taught college level courses, tutored, coached and counseled adults and youth, spoken as a motivational speaker, and volunteered my time in events around the state. As this might indicate to you, education is a passion of mine. I've always loved learning, and part of the reason that I was draw to tutoring is because of a desire to share this passion with others. I love helping my students develop the skills and confidence they need to become lifelong learners themselves. There's nothing like the feeling I get when a student of mine finally achieves a breakthrough in a subject that they've been struggling with for awhile. I enjoy working collaboratively with my students to ensure that I take their specific needs into account and develop an individualized plan of action for that student.
